Chayanna Gallardo
The Pueblo Softball Hall of Fame Committee is proud to recognize our fourth annual Most Valuable High School Girls Softball Player recipient for 2016 from the Pueblo area -- Chayanna Gallardo. This remarkable athlete has been the highly recognized catcher from Pueblo East High School. She will be a senior next school year.
This outstanding International Baccalaureate (I.B.) diploma candidate is the daughter of Robert and Diana Gallardo.
Chayanna currently maintains a 4.0 Grade Point Average, is a three year academic letter winner, and a three year letter winner in softball. She also involves herself with the East High School D.E.C.A., and National Honor Society. Gallardo was selected as junior escort for this commencement exercise at East High School. She is currently ranked 14th in her class.
Chayanna enjoys to give back to individuals who are less fortunate than she is. Gallardo has volunteered for the Special Olympics Unified Games. Since she was in middle school, Chayanna has also volunteered in special needs classroom.
As well as play at East School, Gallardo currently plays travel ball with the Colorado Stars. While she is giving her knees a break from catching, Chayanna also plays first and third base. Gallardo is also a powerhouse at the plate. She has a batting average of .410, with an on base percentage of .467. Chayanna has verbally committed to play Division 1 softball at the University of Delaware.
