Taylor Puga
The Pueblo Softball Hall of Fame Committee is proud to recognize our sixth annual Most Valuable High School Girls Softball Player from the Pueblo area - . Pueblo Central High School, Taylor Puga for 2018..

This remarkable athlete is the daughter of Troy and Lee Ann Puga

Taylor maintained a 4.1 cumulative Grade Point Average and is ranked 10th in her class. She has received eight academic letters, four athletic letters in softball, and one athletic letter in basketball. Puga is a member of the National Honor Society.

Taylor has been a dominant force in the South Central League. She has an earned run average of .934, and 164 strikeouts. Taylor is not only a force to be reckoned with on the mound, but is also a powerhouse at the plate. In the 2017 high school season, she had a .885 slugging percentage, a .474 batting average, and .593 on base percentage. Taylor has led the South Central League in homeruns for the past four years!.

As well as playing at Central High School, Taylor played competitive travel ball with the Colorado Styxx 18 Gold. In order to practice with her team and to practice with her pitching coach, Puga commutes to Denver multiple times a week. When Taylor is not on the mound pitching, she can be found on the field playing first base or outfield.

In her free time, Taylor enjoys giving back to our youth in our community. She gives pitching lessons to children and helped provide instruction at the Runyon Field Pitching Camp. Puga also volunteers for the Pueblo City and County Disaster Drill, which helps prepare first responders and medical staff for potential disasters or emergency situations.

This humble athlete credits her success on the softball diamond to her influential parents, Troy and LeeAnn. She is so thankful for her brother Troy Jr. for always catching her, but most of all for motivating her. She would also like to thank all of her coaches who have taught her the game. Taylor committed to play softball at Tyler Junior College in Texas in the fall of 2018. While at Tyler Junior College, Taylor plans to begin her academic studies in the healthcare field. Her goal is to become a Physician's Assistant..

Jade Garbiso
The Pueblo Softball Hall of Fame Committee is proud to recognize our fifth annual Most Valuable High School Girls Softball Player recipient for 2017 from the Pueblo area --  the highly recognized pitcher for Pueblo West High School, soon to be senior, Jade Garbiso.

This remarkable athlete is the daughter of Jason and Pam Garbiso.

Jade currently maintains a 3.4 Grade Point Average and is a three time softball letter winner.

Garbiso has dominated the South Central League for the past two seasons. She has an earned run average of 1.38, 178 strikeouts, and three no hitters. She is not only a force to be reckoned with on the mound but also at the plate. In the 2016 high school season, Jade had a .696 slugging percentage and a .470 batting average.

As well as playing at Pueblo West High School, Garbiso currently plays competitive travel ball with the Prodigy Elite. In order to practice with her team, Jade has to travel to Denver two times a week. When Jade is not on the mound pitching, she can be found on the field playing shortstop.

This humble athlete credits her success on the softball diamond to her influential father and multiple coaches, Rico Garcia, Rick Montez, and Pat Racanelli. She would like to give a special thank you to Grace Gonzales, who has been Jade's catcher for a majority of her competitive traveling years.

Jade has verbally committed to play Division II softball at Adams State College on a full scholarship. While at Adams State, Jade plans to begin her academic studies in law enforcement. Her goal is to become a homicide detective.

Chayanna Gallardo
The Pueblo Softball Hall of Fame Committee is proud to recognize our fourth annual Most Valuable High School Girls Softball Player recipient for 2016 from the Pueblo area -- Chayanna Gallardo. This remarkable athlete has been the highly recognized catcher from Pueblo East High School. She will be a senior next school year.

This outstanding International Baccalaureate (I.B.) diploma candidate is the daughter of Robert and Diana Gallardo.

Chayanna currently maintains a 4.0 Grade Point Average, is a three year academic letter winner, and a three year letter winner in softball. She also involves herself with the East High School D.E.C.A., and National Honor Society. Gallardo was selected as junior escort for this commencement exercise at East High School. She is currently ranked 14th in her class.

Chayanna enjoys to give back to individuals who are less fortunate than she is. Gallardo has volunteered for the Special Olympics Unified Games. Since she was in middle school, Chayanna has also volunteered in special needs classroom.

As well as play at East School, Gallardo currently plays travel ball with the Colorado Stars. While she is giving her knees a break from catching, Chayanna also plays first and third base. Gallardo is also a powerhouse at the plate. She has a batting average of .410, with an on base percentage of .467. Chayanna has verbally committed to play Division 1 softball at the University of Delaware.

Shayanne DeVille
The Pueblo Softball Hall of Fame Committee is proud to recognize our third annual Most Valuable High School Girls Softball Player recipient for 2015 from the Pueblo area -- Shayanne DeVille. This remarkable athlete has been the standout shortstop for the Pueblo West High School Cyclones.

Chayanne is currently a senior and preparing to graduate this spring. She is the daughter of Terry Garbiso and George De Ville.

Shayanne is a talented multi-sport athlete. She is a four-year letter winner in softball and a three-year letter winner in basketball. She enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering with "Wake Up Pueblo" and helps her father coach a boy's baseball team..
